1) Audio inmersivo (360 grados)

Compilado de música en 360 grados:
Después de casi 3 años experimentando las diferentes técnicas de sonido inmersivo (Ambisonics, binaural, mezcla orientada a objetos), realizamos nuestro propio compilado de música en 360 grados y lo presentamos con gran éxito en la prestigiosa Convención Internacional de la Audio Engineering Society en Nueva York, del 16 al 19 de Octubre, junto a Martín Muscatello y Ianina Canalis. Forman parte del proyecto artistas como Chancha Vía Circuito, Loli Molina, Darío Jalfin, Proyecto Gomez Casa, Lula Bertoldi, Nahuel Bronzini y Famasloop

360° Music Compilation:
After almost three years of experimenting with different immersive audio techniques
(Ambisonics, binaural, object-oriented mix), we have finished our own compilation of immersive music, which was presented with great success - together with Martín Muscatello and Ianina Canalis - at the prestigious Audio Engineering Society International Convention, which took place in New York City from October 16th through 19th. Our compilation features artists like Chancha Vía Circuito, Loli Molina, Darío Jalfin, Proyecto Gómez Casa, Lula Bertoldi, Nahuel Bronzini and Famasloop.

Taller de producción de audio 360 en AES:
El sábado 19 de Octubre ofrecimos en el Javits Convention Center un workshop intensivo teórico-práctico, con el apoyo de Sennheiser y DearVR de Alemania, enfocado en la producción, grabación y post-producción de audio 3D.

360° Audio Workshop at AES:
On October 19th we offered an intensive hands-on training workshop at the Javits Convention Center, supported by Sennheiser and DearVR from Germany, focusing on the theory and practice of 3D audio production, recording and post-production.

HBO:
Durante Octubre y Noviembre estamos trabajando junto a Martín Muscatello en la mezcla de un cortometraje enteramente diseñado en formato de audio binaural, para la presentación oficial de la serie The Outsider, de Stephen King, una producción exclusiva de Estudio Pararrayos de México para HBO Latinoamérica.

HBO:
Together with Martín Muscatello, we are currently working on the mix of a short film, entirely designed in binaural audio format, which will be featured in the official premiere of Stephen King’s “The Outsider”, an exclusive production of HBO Latin America with sound design and production by Estudio Pararrayos from Mexico City.

2) Mastering

Octubre fue un mes de muchísimo trabajo en el estudio, con los nuevos proyectos de reconocidos artistas latinoamericanos como Gabo Ferro (Argentina, mezclado por Alejandro Pugliese), La Teja Pride (Uruguay, producido por Daniel Anselmi), Neoma (Ecuador, producido por Danny Pauta), Gandhi (Costa Rica, producido por Tweety González), Negro Che (Argentina, producido por Mariano Fernandez), Amestra (Chile, producido por Tweety Gonzalez), Gustavo Cordera (Argentina, mezclado por Sebastián Perkal), Thom Bonatto (Brasil, mezclado por Carlos Bechet), Dual (Uruguay, producido por Dani Anselmi) y Somos Lentes (Argentina, mezclado por Marcelo Suraniti).

Platinum Mastering Panel:
En la reciente Convención de AES en Nueva York, Andrés Mayo fue invitado a participar del Platinum Mastering, un panel de profesionales del mastering seleccionados cada año entre cientos de estudios de todo el mundo. El panel fue compartido con Ingenieros de la talla de Michael Romanowski, Gavin Lurssen, Darcy Proper y Mark Wilder.

Platinum Mastering Panel:
At the recent AES NY Convention, Andrés Mayo was invited to be a part of the Platinum Mastering panel which every year selects prominent mastering professionals from all over the world. The panel also featured highly renowned engineers such as Michael Romanowski, Gavin Lurssen, Darcy Proper and Mark Wilder.

3) CHARCO

Después de haber participado recientemente en el Ciclo de Cine Mecenazgo de Buenos Aires, el Festival de Documentales Argentinos de la Municipalidad de Vicente López, la VII Muestra de Cine Documental Latinoamérica en Nosotres, el Festival Internacional de Cine de Gibara y el Latin Films de Medellín, sigue la recorrida de nuestro documental por el mundo:
“Charco, canciones del Río de la Plata” se presentará en Colombia nuevamente, el día 15 de Noviembre en la gran sala Colombo Americano, con el auspicio de la Secretaría de Cultura de Medellín. Andrés Mayo viajará como invitado especial a presentar la proyección y hacer un debate posterior.

Our documentary has recently taken part of the Buenos Aires Mecenazgo Film Month, the Argentinian Documentary Festival held by the Vicente López district, the 7th edition of “Latin America in Nosotres" Documentary Film Festival, the Gibara International Film Festival, the Medellín’s Latin Films Festival, and we are still traveling the world: “CHARCO, songs from the Río de la Plata” will be screened in Colombia once again on November 15th at the Colombo Americano Cultural Center, with the support of the Department of Culture of Medellín. Andrés Mayo has been invited as special guest; he will introduce the film and hold a Q&A session after the screening.

4) Seminarios

Recientemente participamos del seminario sobre creatividad y tecnología en AGADU (Asociación General de Autores del Uruguay) en la ciudad de Montevideo.

We were invited to give a seminar on Technology and Creativity at a big meeting held by AGADU (General Association of Authors of Uruguay) in Montevideo.

También estuvimos en Muestra Música de Buenos Aires, en el marco del Work Show Argentina, dando una conferencia sobre Identidad Sonora. Cómo detectar los elementos que nos ayudan a encontrar la identidad artística de una banda y cómo llevarlos a la máxima expresión en lo musical y en términos de calidad de sonido.

We were also invited to present at “Muestra Música”, a part of the Work Show Argentina exhibition. We held a conference on Sound Identity where we talked about how to identify the elements that help us define the artistic identity of a band and how to help those elements achieve their greatest expression, both in terms of music and sound quality.

El viernes 1 de Noviembre estaremos participando de CAPER, la gran exposición de la industria audiovisual en Costa Salguero (Buenos Aires), con una presentación sobre producción de sonido 360.

On November 1st we will attend CAPER, the great meeting of the audiovisual industry in Buenos Aires, to give a lecture on ements achieve their greatest expression, both in terms of music and sound quality.

Los lunes 11 y 25 de Noviembre y también el 2 y 9 de Diciembre tendrá lugar el ciclo de Conferencias alrededor del documental Charco, en los estudios Lumiton, con la coordinación de la Secretaría de Cultura de Vicente López. Participaremos en calidad de anfitriones, mostrando los distintos aspectos creativos y técnicos de la realización del film.

During four Mondays (Nov 11th and 25th, Dec 2nd and 9th) we have been invited to host a series of talks about our documentary Charco at Lumiton Studios, organized by the Secretary of Culture of Vicente López. On each talk, we will show a different aspect of the film, from the creative and technical point of view.

El día 14 de Noviembre estaremos en el MEC (Movimiento de Empresas Creativas) de la ciudad de Cali, Colombia, hablando sobre la Creatividad como negocio.

On November 14th we will be attending the MEC exhibition (Creative Companies Movement) in the city of Cali, Colombia, where we will discuss Creativity as a business.

El sábado 30 de Noviembre disertaremos en Sonorámica (Córdoba) en el marco del Viaje Sonoro, gran encuentro de música y audio organizado por Mariano Bilinkis y Mariel Colomino.

On November 30th, we will be a part of Sonorámica’s “Viaje Sonoro”, a great music and audio gathering organized by Mariano Bilinkis and Mariel Colomino in the province of Córdoba.

Nicolás Durán Blanco, miembro de nuestro staff permanente, dicta dos seminarios de alto contenido técnico: Acústica de Control Rooms: ya lleva dos ediciones muy exitosas este seminario que describe en detalle el diseño de nuestra sala de mastering y ofrece todos los conceptos necesarios para encarar un proyecto de diseño acústico. Pronto habrá nuevas fechas disponibles.

Nicolás Durán Blanco, a member of our permanent staff, will soon hold two high-level technical seminars: Control Rooms Acoustics: This seminar, which has had already two successful editions, delves into the design of our mastering control room and offers everything you need to know in order to tackle an acoustic design project. An upcoming edition will be announced soon.

La cadena de Mastering por dentro: Este seminario tendrá su primera edición el sábado 14 de diciembre y estará enfocado en el funcionamiento interno de los distintos equipos analógicos de procesamiento de audio.

The Inside of the Mastering Chain: The first edition of this seminar will take place on Saturday, December 14th, and will focus on the internal processes of different audio analogic equipment pieces.
